Two travel models, one decision that needs clarity
Choose around pricing basis, group needs, date, privacy, and room to adapt,not price alone.
Open Trip sells per-person seats on available dates and quota. Private Charter reserves one KM Alexandria for one group at a per-boat rate. Both cap sales at 17 guests and still follow weather, currents, park rules, safety, and the captain’s decision.
Separate the booking basis
Open Trip is a per-person seat. You share the journey with other guests, choose an available date, and wait for quota and departure status. Private Charter is one boat for one group, priced per boat, with more room to discuss pace.
One-Day Komodo is a six-destination itinerary available to both models. It is not a third service and does not remove park, weather, or captain limits.

Read rates using the correct unit
Open Trip adult tiers are IDR 1,350,000 for 1–2 heads, IDR 1,250,000 for 3–5 heads, and IDR 1,150,000 for 6–17 heads. Children aged 0–14, including toddlers, pay 70% of the applicable tier and still count as one head.
Private Charter has two options: Signature Full Day at IDR 13,000,000 per boat and Sunset Half Day at IDR 7,500,000 per boat. Both cap sales at 17 guests; the 30% deposit is non-refundable and the balance follows the booking confirmation.
Komodo National Park tickets, personal travel insurance, and personal expenses are not automatically included in the trip price.

Privacy and pace do not remove operating limits
Private Charter gives one group one boat, so pace, stop priorities, or family needs have more room for discussion. Open Trip provides a per-person structure that can suit solo travellers, couples, or smaller groups.
Neither model guarantees a free route. Weather, currents, park slots, safety, and the captain’s decision remain limits. Group wishes should be discussed as priorities, not promises.

Date, quota, and deposit do different jobs
Open Trip is confirmed after at least 10 paid heads or actual transaction value reaches IDR 8,500,000. This uses an OR rule, and final status is shared by 17:00 WITA one day before departure. Do not treat an enquiry, provisional quota, and departure status as the same thing.
Private Charter uses a 30% non-refundable deposit. Vessel availability, discussed route, timing, and balance should appear in the confirmation before the initial payment is made.
